The Nevada County Consolidated Fire District (NCCFD) Cadet Program is designed to provide on the job experience - allowing participants from 16 to 18 years of age to train for a career in the Fire Service / EMS field.

The Cadets are accepted as junior members of the Fire District.  They are expected to learn and demonstrate safety and professionalism at all times.  The Cadet can assist in many areas of the community.  The experience and training acquired may also be used as a stepping-stone toward a career in a variety of related emergency medical/fire service positions.

NCCFD has position available for a total of 10 Cadets.  Cadets meet every Monday from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Station 54 in Nevada City.  Training and field trips cover the basic fire service topics and include special drills, demonstrations, and public education activities.
