Station 87 is located at 13101
Ridge Road, Grass Valley
Coverage Area:
The Alta, Oak, and Sunset residential areas outside of the Grass Valley City
Limits, the west side of Ridge Road, Squirrel Creek, Rough and Ready Highway to
the Rough and Ready Fire Department boundary, and the Bitney Springs area to the
Penn Valley Fire Department Boundary.
Staffing Coverage:
Station 87 has part time staffing 12 hours a day, 7 days a
week, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. To do this we have 2 shifts (1, 2,) that work
3 12 hour days with 4 days off and then 4 12 hour days with 3 days off.
Shift 1: 1 Seasonal Operator & 1 Seasonal Firefighter
Shift 2: 1 Seasonal Operator & 1 Seasonal Firefighter

This is a first out unit for all emergencies. Used as quick attack for
small fires and snow removal operations in the winter.
